We were staying in the area and looking for some good Mexican food, and everything we ordered at Don Diego’s was top quality. The ambiance is really pleasant as are the staff in their attentiveness to customers. The shrimp fajitas and calamari were done extremely well, and their chips and salsa were so tasty. The calamari are done in a Mexican style – so it’s like the type you might get in Veracruz, but if you can’t handle extreme heat, be careful of the salsa that comes with it and just use the regular salsa! The chile rellenos and vegetarian burrito were very good offerings. The desert was the most surprising and tasty part of the meal, it was a fried peach burrito that was heavenly! A great and satisfying meal after a day of hiking. You can’t go wrong here.

Came here for Fiesta Hour, their version of Happy Hour. I got the Mole Enchiladas and they were fantastic. I have been here throughout the years and it has maintained a high standard.

We found ourselves staying in Palm Desert on a night that was our anniversary, and our hotel recommended this place as somewhere with good food, good atmosphere, and reasonable price. They were right. The food was quite good, and in generous portions. They also had a diverse tequila menu, so I decided to try a flight of anejo spirits. But the real star of the evening was Froylan, our server. Although he was incredibly busy, he still took the time to chat with us, and we even shared wedding stories. Great guy, who made a special evening even more special.

My sister and I had been busy shopping and we decided to stop in for lunch and drinks, we had our small dog with us and they politely pointed us to the patio. It was inviting and clean, server brought the menus and to our surprise we order and everything was delivered so quickly. First our drinks were great, and the food we ordered was surprisingly tasty and authentic! portions were not skimped on. Taste was on point, so we decided to to return for dinner this past Friday. We made reservation just in case it would be packed ( to our surprise it wasn’t as busy) First impression inside: tired and a real need of a makeover, some light were out and air filter dirty plus the booths ouch, replacement needed ( so atmosphere was lacking ) But food and drinks did not disappoint, even dessert was great ( BIG value for what we got ) I just wished they would update the decor and remodel their dining room and maybe Margarita menu ( newer flavors like watermelon or spicy habanero) bet it would make a big difference one concern we all had that the food runner would drop the food on us, I’m sure is on guests expecting delivery of food since I noticed the family near us cringed when he was delivering We will be back, I just wished they do something to bring this great restaurant to 2025 atmosphere looks like it’s been like that for 30 years

Table chips and salsa are really good. My wife ordered a medium house margarita and I ordered a medium vintage margarita. The vintage is $9.00 more and we both honestly couldn't tell the difference. I will say I was shocked how big the medium margarita is! For appetizer we ordered macho nachos with beef... Yum! For our meal we shared a chimichanga burrito which was also really good. I would definitely recommend this place for great Mexican food. Staff were all very friendly as well.
